Farris, 70, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs. Born March 16, 1933, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles Dayton and Lela Mencer Farris. He was a retired truck driver. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs. He was a member of American Legion Post 60 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1483. He is survived by his companion, Ilene Rankin of Berkeley Springs; one daughter, Regina L. Binder of Charles Town, W.Va.; three sons, Ronald K. Farris of Hedgesville, W.Va., Timothy L. Farris of Great Cacapon, W.Va., and Anthony C. Farris of Boston; five sisters, Ellen D. Finlan of Cleveland, Betty Lou Crosen of Berkeley Springs, Patty A. McManus of Great Cacapon, W.Va., Alice Bohrer of Needmore, Pa., and Delores J. Myers of Hancock; three brothers, Lloyd Farris and Dayton Farris, both of Berkeley Springs, and Joseph Farris of Great Cacapon; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Jim McMahan will officiate. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, Berkeley Sprigs, with military services by Tri-State Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will open Friday at 9 a.m.
