Born in Des Moines, Iowa, he was a son of the late Clarence Earl Farris Sr. and the late Ethlene Katherine Seipple Farris. He had retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years, having served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He served as HVAC instructor at Central Carolina Technical College and had also retired from Boykin Air Conditioning Services. Survivors besides his wife include daughters, Sharon Yomtob and her husband, Richard, of Alcolu, Mandy Johnson and her husband, Mark, of Georgetown, and Karen Keels and her husband, Scott, of Elgin; brothers, Robert Farris of Houston, Dan Farris of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Jay, Lori, Corey, Kyle and Rodney; several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Meg White and her husband, Ray, of England; brother-in-law, Clive Collins and his wife, Keiko, of Japan. Memorials may be made to the SC Wildlife Federation, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Ste. 104, Columbia, SC 29204. The family will receive friends at the home. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of arrangements.
