ACKLEY CALAIS - Ethel I. Ackley, 94, died Sept. 7, 2003, at a Calais healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 21, 1909, in Calais, the daughter of Avery R. and Florence (Leach) Farris. Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Austin F. Ackley, in 1983; and her daughter, Joyce Redding, in 1982. Surviving are one sister, Sadie Miller of Baileyville; five grandchildren, Brenda Smalle of Tampa, Fla., Lynn Mattei of San Diego, Calif., Joanna Bailey of Grand Lake Stream, Randy Redding of Buckley, Wash., and Kevin Redding of Belfast; four great-grandchildren, Christopher Waycott and Kyle Bailey of Grand Lake Stream, Ashley Clark and Michael Redding of Belfast; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Nancy Huntington officiating.
