Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville. A native of Meigs County, she was a daughter of the late Bart F. Trew and Georgia Hill. She was a member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the church. She was a member of the Knoxville Garden Guild. Surviving is her husband, Gene Farris of Athens; three daughters and two sons in law, Shannon and Larry Miller, Lynette and David Culberson and Ellen Farris all of Athens; one son and daughter in law, Keith and Lisa Farris of Athens; four granddaughters; three grandsons; and seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Miller, Carol Cribb and Pamela Boyle, all of California; three brothers, Pat Worley, Ellis Trew and Stan Trew, all of California. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Jerry Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Wright and Rev. Ogle Wattenbarger officiating. Interment will follow in McMinn Memo! ry Gardens. The body will be in state at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Allen Memorial United Methodist Church Parsonage Fund, 800 Decatur Pike, Athens, Tenn. 37303.
