Farris, 59, of 3380 Moxadarla Road, died at 10:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at her residence. Born Dec. 20, 1943, in Zanesville, she was a school teacher for West Muskingum School System and retired from Roseville Middle School, having taught for 36 years. She was a member of Rolling Plains United Methodist Church, where she was involved in many church activities and a graduate of Ohio University. Surviving are her husband, Wendell Farris of the home, whom she married Aug. 20, 1970; a son, Justin (Lisa) Farris of Philo; a brother, Charles (Sonie) Rath of Newark; a sister, Barbara Ann (Ronald) Bauer of Canton; and grandchildren, Austin and Alexis Farris. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore (Ted) and Esther Patterson Rath. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, 56 S. Fifth St. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Rolling Plains United Methodist Church with Pastor Brian Law officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
