Born Dec. 1, 1950, in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of Carl and Bernice Whisner Farris of Great Cacapon, W.Va. He was a 1968 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. He was employed by Citizens National Bank in Berkeley Springs for 28 years. He attended Tonoloway Bible Church in Needmore. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his former wife, Phyllis Pittman Farris of Needmore; one daughter, Shawn R. Farris of Needmore; four sons, Wesley E. Farris of Needmore, Thomas C. Farris and Aaron T. Farris, both of Berkeley Springs, and Jason B. Farris, at home; five sisters, Nancy Sigmon of Crosslanes, W.Va., Dina Stotler, Josi McCumbee and Cindy Didawick, all of Berkeley Springs, and Tina Owens of Medford, Ore.; two brothers, Mark Farris and John Farris of Great Cacapon; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Farris. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Needmore Bible Church. The Revs. Doug Poffenberger and Dave Kidwell will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, and Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church.
