I am looking for information on my paternal grandfather, Samuel Houston Ferriss (possibly Ferris). We believe he came from Texas, possibly the town of Ferris, in the late 1800's. He lived in Hart County, KY, in the early 1900's. Probably around 1912, he married Ida Mae Childress of Hart County, and they lived in and around Priceville. Samuel Houston Ferriss worked as a blacksmith. He and Ida Mae had three sons, Woodrow Ferriss, William Herman "Lonzo" Ferriss and Russell Houston Ferriss (later Farris, my dad). We believe Samuel Houston Ferriss died just before 1920. In the 1920 Census, Ida Mae and her three boys were living with her brother, Hiram Childress, in Hart County. We also believe that Ida died just after 1920 and that the three boys were farmed out to relatives or to whoever would take them in. I would appreciate any information on Samuel Houston Ferris(s).
