The Herald Rock Hill, SC November 30, 2003 Gerald Faires ROCK HILL -- Mr. Gerald Wallace Faires, 62, of 1668 George Dunn Road died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Piedmont Medical Center. A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Grandview Memorial Park, Cherry Road, with the Rev. Ken Fetuao officiating. A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Faires was a son of the late James Wallace Faires and Sarah Dunn Faires. He was of the Presbyterian faith. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Cuban Crisis and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Frank Roach Post No. 34 and the VFW Post No. 2889. He was retired from General Tire in Charlotte. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Hess Faires; his son, Gerald James "Jamie" Faires of Rock Hill; his daughter, Barbara Jean Faires Gillespie of Rock Hill; and two granddaughters. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 today at Green Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and other times at home.
