Farris, 56, Sarasota, died Jan. 15, 2003. He was born Aug. 10, 1946, in Fort Benning, Ga., and came to Sarasota eight years ago from Chicago. He graduated from the University of Florida and worked in media sales at Channel 40. He was a volunteer in charity functions for the American Cancer Society and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Gator Club and Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Survivors include a son, Michael C. of Sarasota; sisters Christine Edwards and Susan, both of Gainesville; brothers Glenn J. of Davis, Calif., Gregory of Gainesville and James of Nyack, N.Y.; his mother, Mary of Gainesville; and a grandson. No visitation is scheduled. A memorial liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is in charge.
