A native of Chattanooga and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Pauline Farris and was a member of Jones Chapel Methodist Church. She was an employee of Halco Vending and an avid supporter of the Riceville Dizzy Dean Baseball and Youth Football. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Katie Bunch and Francis and Hattie Farris. Survivors include her husband, Tim Walker of Riceville; one son, Nathan Walker of Riceville; her father, Cecil Farris of Athens; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Cathy and Olice Stone of Etowah, Lisa and Tim Bain of Athens, Sharon Russell of Etowah, Tammy and Darris Upton of Norfolk, Va., an Wilma Farris of Dalton, Ga.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Kim Farris, Tony and Carmen Farris, and Jackie and Dawn Farris, all of Athens; special aunts and uncle, Mary and Jack Hicks and Betty Walker; one sister-in-law and spouse, Liz and Ken Seargeant of Athens; one brother-in-law, Brian Walker of Athens; mother and father-in-law, Ernie and Brenda Walker of Athens; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Hicks and the Rev. Jerry Redman officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sullins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Matthews, Jeff Mason, Mark Lowery, T.R. Casteel, Terry Johnson and Jeff Weir. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Faye Forgety, 120 County Road 447, Athens, TN 37303. Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.
