Farris, 68, of Metropolis died at 3:55 a.m. Thursday at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. Mrs. Farris attended Weaver Creek Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Lily of the Valley Lodge No. 85. Surviving are her husband, Donald Farris; three sisters, Elizabeth Lowe of Little Rock, Ark., and Bertha Yates and Sue Gentry, both of Metropolis; one brother, John Smallman of Metropolis; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents were James and DeVona "Dee" Deitz Smallman. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home of Metropolis with the Rev. Tony Wayne Harris and Bill Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
