She was born in Caldwell County, NC, April 24, 1915, a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Caroline Elizabeth Harris Farris. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2004 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Williams Cemetery in Polkton. The family will greet friends this evening, Saturday, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son on Lanier Road in Peachland. She is survived by her children, Evelyn Sowell and husband, Milton of Kershaw, SC, Jack Cureton of Charlotte, Thomas Cureton and wife, Lynda of Peachland, and Victor Cureton of Wadesboro; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to The Church of God of Prophecy, Hwy 52 S., Morven Road, Wadesboro, NC 28170, or the charity of the donor's choice. The arrangements are in the care of Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro.
