Smith Farris 'TUT' PALESTINE, TEXAS - Wanda V. Smith Farris, of Palestine, Texas, passed away Nov. 7, 2003. She was born Oct. 23, 1951, in Palestine, Texas and was raised in Galveston, Texas. Wanda graduated from Ball High School in 1970. She was a member of many organizations and helped many, many people. She was a pillow, a rock, and a strong force in her family, community and whereever she was present. She was cherished, loved and respected by her family, friends, and former co-workers. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bo" Farris of Palestine, Texas; her parents Joseph "Big" and Vermita Smith, of Palestine, Texas; her brothers, Lewis Ray Smith, James Earl Smith, Lawrence Henry Smith and Clifton Wayne Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Harry Lee Hickerson (Antoinette), of League City, Texas, Kendall Dewayne Hickerson (Jackie) of Texas City, Texas; daughter Felicia Shenette Hickerson, of Palestone, Texas; her grandchildren Kayle M. Hickerson, Matthew Brian Hickerson, Jonathan Hickerson, Dejuan LeKevin Hickerson, Devin Le Shaun Hickerson; her brothers Buddy Joe Murray (Lillie) of Palestine, Texas, Joseph Smith Jr. of Palestine, Texas; sisters Alice M. Smith, Vernell Smith of Palestine, Texas, Daretha A. Smith of Dallas, Texas, Diana Smith Douglas of La Marque, Texas; former mother and father in-law Juanita Givens and (Alex Givens, Deceased) Harry Lee Hickerson, Sr., of Galveston, Texas, Alex Givens (Teresa) of Dallas, Nanette Givens (J.D.) of Galveston. Special nieces and nephews Tiffany and Derrick Douglas of La Marque, James E. Smith of Texas City, Texas, Shannon Murray, Lawrence and Latonya Smith, or Palestine, Texas.
