I have a CD with the Death Index beginning in 1937, and didn't locate a Bartho Farris on it at all. Is there another spelling of his last name that it might be under? (I have to tell you, too, that the SS folks misspelled my grandfather's name on the index by misspelling his first name. Jesse became Jessie, but they added an extra i, so it was listed as Jessiie. So it's possible that the Social Security Number you have is his, but they misspelled his name on it. If you want to e-mail me at [email protected] giving me the number you have, I can pull the index up by SSN and see how he's listed, or if it's someone else entirely.
