Hello all, I am looking for the family of one of one of our Texas heroes. There is a Lew or Low Farris who was killed along with about 30 others on September 18, 1842 at Salado Creek just south of San Antonio. This group organized in La Grange, Fayette County, Texas under Nicholas Dawson to fight the Mexican army which was lead by General Woll when they invaded Texas after it was already a republic. This action was called "The Dawson Massacre", "The Battle of Salado Creek" and "The Woll Campaign". All the bodies of those killed at Salado Creek are buried in a tomb at Monument Hill in La Grange. I had a wreath put on the tomb for him during the memorial services last month. If any of you have this brave man in your family tree, we would appreciate any information you might have. Stan Farris
