I am still looking for my Howell Farris/Farriss after the 1870 Census where he was living with his wife Elizabeth and several children in Hancock Co, Ga. Information in my grandmother's papers listed her mother as Laura Elizabeth Farris, and her grandfather as a Howell Farris. James and Rebecca Farris of KY to GA had a son Howell. Farriss, 3 M W GA [ 1900 Richmond Co. GA census, p. 134B, head of hh] Willie Farriss, 1 M W GA. [Wonder if he could be the Thomas Farris, age 32, named in the 1900 Richmond Co. Ga. Tax list, living at 1016 Talcott? Date of birth works.] My g-grandmother Laura Elizabeth Farris was not born until 1872. Her medical papers (patient and husband interviews at Milledgeville State Hospital, Baldwin Co, GA state she was born in Sparta, Hancock Co.,Ga.) I have been unable to find Laura Elizabeth Farriss in any census as a child to help prove the info. given to me by my grandmother, her daughter, Carrie Lee Inglett (of Pinetucky, Richmond Co, GA) md. William H. Smith Sr. (Richmond co, GA). According to John Inglett, husband of Laura Elizabeth Farriss, Howell Farriss was a drunkard. I know that he and his wife divorced. But not when or what became of him. I have information on the ancestors from Elvin E. Farris <mefarris@bellsouth.net>, 961 Rosemont Drive Panama City, FL 32405, but I have been unable to find Howell. Any help with the whereabouts of this Howell Farriss after 1870 would be much appreciated. Billie Jones
