She was born 08/09/1923 in Eston, Saskatchewan Canada. Elsie was very proud of her Canadian heritage. She met her husband Elmer Lee Farris at a dance while he worked on the Alaskan Highway with the U.S. Army. They were married in Dawson Creek and while Elmer was stationed at the Panama Canal Elsie came to live with her in-laws in Shawnee, OK. Elsie suffered many losses in her life and family. In 1939, when she was just 13 her mother, Mabel Warren, and father Wellington Warren; three younger sisters Jean, Pearl and Babe as well as three nephews were all lost to a flood on the Murray River. Also preceding her in death were husband Elmer; sisters Ethyl Lamont and Edna Parr; Brothers Alan Warren and Bert Warren; and son-inlaw Bill Anderson. Elsie is survived by one sister Edith Knowles and her husband David; three loving children Preston Farris and wif! e Carol; Gloria Anderson; Bruce Farris and wife Amy. Seven grandchildren Holly and husband Jay Reeves; Todd and wife Jenny Farris; Heather and husband Derek Feagans; Teal and husband Scott Williams; Cora and husband Dustin Davis and Caleb and Shiloh Farris. Eight great-grandchildren Kodi and Lauren Reeves; Caitlin, Braden and Anna Marie Farris; Will Feagans; and Max and Addison Williams. They all cherished their special time with 'GG'. Elsie loved to work in her gardens and tend to her fish pond. She was loving, independent, strong and had a great sense of humor. Her family was everything to her and all she needed in life. Elsie's family would like to recognize all of the wonderful and caring nephews, nieces, neighbors, close friends and Carter Hospice for the wonderful attention and care during her final days. They all wrapped her in their arms and hearts. Her smile and quick wit will be greatly missed. We will love you forever Elsie and you will forever be in our hearts. !
