How does one look for information of wagon peddlers to the indians. In or about 1880 my ggg-aunt and husband peddled goods to the indians around Lincoln NE. I understood from the family that there was a licence issued (paper long gone). The name was Farris - May have been George and Mary Farris. If I had a place to begin looking I may be able to piece together more info for you. Thanks
If on reservation land, I wonder if the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington, DC, would have a record of the license?
