Farris RACINE - Samuel C. Farris, 88, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at Clement Zablocki V.A. Medical Center. He was born on July 15, 1917, in Argo, Alabama, son of the late Elroy and Jeanette (nee: Black) Farris. Samuel served in the United States Army during World War II. On September 12, 1943, he was united in marriage to Lalar Mosley. He was employed by Belle City Foundry for many years. He was a member and Deacon of the Greater Mt. Eagle Missionary Baptist Church. He also was a member of the American Legion Post #546, a past member of the Masons and enjoyed being a member of the Senior Group at the Breakthru Neighborhood Center. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family, and will be dearly missed. Surviving are his wife, Lalar, seven children; Larry (Deanie) Farris of Milwaukee, Diana Farris, Ronald Farris, Sammy Farris, Woody (Suzanne) Farris all of Racine, Sandy Farris of Alabama and Jean (Richard) Houston of Compton, CA., 27 Grandchildren: Larry, Tishante! and Zakiya Farris, David (Kathleen) Finley, Kenneth Finley, Alisha, Sicarra and Samantha Farris, Darnell Freeman, Ron, Rodney, Ricky, Yvette Farris, April and Regina Norris, Toyia Farris and Lois Hatcher, Vivian and Samantha Farris, Valery Farris McCray, Stephanie and Jeff Farris, Deborah Alexander, Karen Johnson, Carl Houston, Donna LaBrie and JoDell Pinesetts; 53 Great Grandchildren; sister, Louise Holmes of Birmingham, AL, brother, Curtis Farris of Los Angeles, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Also preceded in death by eight brothers: Belton, Otis, Asa, Edward, Matthew, Robert, Elroy and Henry, three sisters, Doris Cogburn, Betty Wright and Willie Page, one granddaughter, Tiffany Green. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Greater Mt. Eagle Missionary Baptist Church, 929 State St., 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Keith T. Evans officiating. Interment will follow with full Military Honors at West Lawn Memorial Park. V! isitation will be on Tuesday at 10:00 until time of service at the chu rch.
