My family member is Agnes Greer dob 10/10/1857, NC, dod 2/29/1916, NC Married 1/23/1890 Madison Hughes Clifton dob 3/2/1847, NC, I don't have much information on her, my grandmother was "adopted" by Agnes and Hughes, and I'm trying to find out some history on the family hoping that I will find some clues as to the identity of my grandmother and how she came to live with the Greer's. I know, it can be far fetched, but at this point I will try any avenue to knock down that brick wall. I have learned thru my research that I can most probably deduce my grandmother's real name at least, which was Adia B. Farris. But, hoping to find who her real parents were, perhaps thru searching the Greer's, since from what my mother has told me, Agnes' brother, James dob 1862 was very involved in the Baptist Church in Spray, NC and there may be some clues somewhere there.
