The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at the Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Clifford Waters will officiate. Born in Dora, Ala., Mrs. Dean was the daughter of the late Fletcher and Mamie Dupree Farris. She was retired from Eaton Industries and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by a son, George Larry Dean and a daughter, Kathy Elaine Dean Hammons. She was devoted and loving to her family which includes husband, George Dean; one son, Ronald Gary Dean and his wife, Beatrice of Hamilton, Ohio; one daughter, Sharon June Gullett and her husband, Wayne of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; one son-in-law, R. E. Hammons of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Avon Farris of Dunlap, Tenn.; four sisters, Jimima Loggins of Culman, Ala., Edna Owens of Melvindale, Mich., Brenda Waters and Wanda Key of Dunlap, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
