Born August 14, 1925, at Whitman, he was a son of the late Millard and Nila Farris. Also preceding him in death was his beloved wife of 57 years, Sylvia Farris; two brothers, Ernest and Lewis Farris, and one sister, Bonnie Smith. Georgia was a devoted husband of 57 years and a member of the Piney Community Church. Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Frank and Donald Farris, both of Harts; two daughters, Kathey Stollings of Harts and Mary Jones of Charleston; two sisters, Virgie Rakes of Defiance, Ohio, and Donnie Hoitt of Grover Hill, Ohio; two brothers, Charles Farris of Bryan, Ohio, and Journey Farris of Grover Hill; seven grandchildren, Mark Farris, Clint Farris, Niki Farris, Lisa Dillon, Danny Combs, Shawn Combs and Taylor Jones; and four great-grandchildren, Treyton Farris, Victoria Farris, Carrie Farris and Jasmine Farris. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the Piney Community Church at Harts with Minister Kenny Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at the Farris-Dillon Cemetery at Harts. Pallbearers will be Donald Farris, Frank Farris, Clifford Farris, Mark Farris, Michael Dillon and Butch Jones. All night visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church.
