Mrs. Farris was born July 7, 1910, in Roanoke, Va. Margaret was a former house parent with the Methodist home in Sanford, Fla., and a member of the Methodist denomination. She was a daughter of the late William W. and Eula Separk Casserley, and widow of Walter H. Farris Sr., who died in 1978. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Gardner and Louise Deyerle. Surviving are her daughters, Margaret Pettrey and her husband, A.G., of Russell, Ky., Barbara Bowling and her husband, Jack, of Tampa, Fla., and Joan Stafford and her husband, C.O., of Weaverville; son, Walt Farris and his wife, Pat, of Weaverville; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with the Rev. Naomi King officiating. A eulogy will be given by her grandson, Huey Stafford. Burial will be in West Memorial Park, with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Walt Farris, 63 Terrace Dr., Weaverville, or Joan Stafford, 7 Walnut Lane, Weaverville. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
