Born Dec. 24, 1920, in Nicholas County, she was the wife of the late Burton Farris, and a daughter of the late James R. and Marian Stone Bellamy. She was a member of Carlisle United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, W.C. Gaunce of Franklin, and James Gaunce and his wife, Virginia, of Holland, Mich.; two daughters, Anna Cassity of Millersburg, and Margaret Pittman of Lawrenceburg; two brothers, James R. Bellamy Jr. of Carlisle, and Stanley Bellamy of Navarre, Fla.; a sister, Helen Gaunce of Willisburg; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home in Carlisle with the Revs. Julian Hammonds and Ernie Carmicle officiating. Burial was in Carlisle Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jason Cassity, Jock Conley, Rod McKannon, Eric Pittman, William Pittman and Gerald Watkins.
