She was born May 28, 1935, in Winfield, Kansas, and was the daughter of the late Carl L. and Oletha H. Farris. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Findlay; and her daughter, Karla Denise Baber; also her brothers, LeRoy E. Farris, and William Dale Farris. She is survived by her son, Victor R. Ray Jr. and his wife, Ruth M. Ray; her son, Brian E. Ray and his wife, Tammie Ray; and her special nephew, L. Everett Farris. "Dot" spent most of her life in Charlottesville and many people recognized her as a well-respected figure in the legal and real estate communities, having worked on Court Square for many years. She was an avid bowler with a true zest for life, and will be sincerely missed by many. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2007, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2007, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.
