Funeral services were held Monday, January 22, at 2 p.m. at the Gatesville Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. W.W. Nunn and Chaplain Dar Evans officiating. Burial followed at Restland Cemetery. Mrs. Farris was born December 8, 1927, to the late Luther Earl and Etta Glen Galloway Mensch. She married Ernest Dewey Farris, February 8, 1945, and lived in Gatesville most of their married life. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1995. They were married 50 years. Mrs. Farris was also preceded in death by brother, George Mensch; sister, Jo Thompson; and grandsons, Terry, Jeffery and Clint. Mrs. Farris is survived by son, Dewey Dewain Farris and Marilyn; daughters, Margaret Ann Chance and husband Charles and Jo Marie January and husband Ray; brother, Dan Lewis Mensch and wife Ruby; granddaughters, Misty Farris Lennox and Ashley Chance; and a great-grandson, Dalton Barnard.
