The article sort of brings to mind, Greenville Farris son of Thompson Farris also was killed in Little River AR in about 1878 (not sure if this is the exact date) He ran away from Hamilton Co., IL after a dispute over corn in a bin in the field that belonged to Mr Gray. Mr Campbell came for the corn and Mr Campbell was shot by Green Farris. Green then left Hamilton Co., for what is reported "Indiana Country". On his way back to Hamilton co., IL he was shot and was cared for by someone and he died in Little River AR Although the date for George W. and Major are about 20 years later, do you know at what point Major's family came to that area.
