Ferris, 75, of Oelwein, died Saturday, Jan. 23, at Mercy Hospital, Oelwein, of congestive heart failure; survivors include three sons, Jerry A. of Adel, Jeffrey C. of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Brian L. of Oelwein; a daughter, Sharon A. Gauquie of Oelwein; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchilren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Carr of Battle Mount, Nev., and Charles Carr of Gendora, Calif.; and two sisters, Doris Rutzloff of San Jose, Calif., and Iva Kunkle of Dubuque; he (sic) was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome, in 1990; two brothers; and four sisters; services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Floral Hills Chapel, with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein; friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home; memorials may be directed to the family; Mrs. Ferris had been a cook at Kennedy's Super Valu for 15 years.
