Hello everyone. My grandmother Mary Ann Fariss' (note spelling) parents were James Fletcher Fariss b 1/21/1864 in Harden (I can only find a Hardin County) County, TN and d. 7/27/1939. He was married to Nettie Jane Townsend b. 3/10/1869 in Bell ounty, TN and d. 3/17/1954 in Blanket, TX. They had 3 children: 1. Mary Ann (b. 4/18/1892 in Comanche County, TX d. 10/3/1956) as noted above, who married James Cleveland Herring on 10/11, 1908, in Eureka, TX. 2. Samuel Van Buren Fariss b. 8/14/1887 in Comanche County, TX. d. ?, m. Lula Lane 3. Tommie Fariss b. ? d. ? m. Nora Green James Fletcher Fariss' parents were S. Summerfield Fariss b. 8/13/1837 d. 1/25/1898. He was married to Elizabeth ? who was born on April 19, 1844 d. 9/26/1881. They had 3 children. 1. James Fletcher mentioned above. 2. J.E. b 5/24/1862 d. 8/8/1888 3. Bud b. 12/24/1854 c. 8/27/1945 No one seems to know where S. Summerfield Fariss was born, so that is as far back as I have been able to go. Any help will be appreciated!
