Here are some obituaries I have accumulated; all of them are from "The Kansas City STAR": Thursday, July 30, 1998 - Edith Louise Fares Edith Louise Fares, 87, Clinton MO, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, Kansas City MO; burial in Mount Washington Cemetery, Independence MO. Friends may call 1 - 2 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home. (Arrangements: Park Lawn Funeral Home) Monday, November 16, 1998 - Fred M. Farris Fred Marion Farris, 80, Faucett MO, died Saturday, November 14, 1998, at a St. Joseph Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Meierhoffer-Fleeman Funeral Home, St. Joseph; interment in Faucett (MO) Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30 - 8:30 at the funeral Honme. The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Lung Association or a charity of the donor's choice. Mr. Farris was born March 30, 1918, in Faucett. After graduation from William Jewell College, he moved to California in 1940, where he waa employed as a planner in the engineering department of the Douglas Aircraft Company. He also owned and operated variety stores in California. He returned to Faucett in 1952 and worked as a builder and contractor in the Faucett area until his death. He sas a member of the Faucett Christian Church. On May 24, 1953, he married the former Dorothy M. Ray and she preceded him in death on May 10, 1988. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Juanita E. Faucett Farris. Survivors include two sons, Fred W. Farris, M.D., Overland Park KS, and Edwin E. Farris, Faucett MO; two daughters, Nita L. Archer, St. Joseph MO, and Ocena M. Troutman, Faucett MO, two brothers, Edwin F. Farris and Gennie Farris, both of Faucett MO, and 10 grandchildren. Thursday, December 17, 1998 - Nancye J. Phares Nancy J. Phares, age 78, of Kansas City MO, passed away December 14, 1998, at her home. Funeral services will be 1` p.m. Saturday, December 19, at Muehlebach Funeral Home; burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 7 - 9 p.m. Friday, December 18,m at Muehlebach Funeral Home. Mrs. Phares was born in Roanoke VA. She was a registered nurse with Center School District and retired from Independence Publis Schools in 1991. She was a lieutenant in the Army during WWII. She was a member of Colonial Presbyterian Church. She graduated from nursing school at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore MD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Phares, in 1980. Survivors include her sons Fred Phares III and wife Ramona, Moraga CA, and Michael D. Phares and wife Sara, Mesquite TX; brother, Curtis Johnson, Beckley WV, sisters Nola Trent, Hurt VA, and Judy Worsham, Richmond VA, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 29, at D. W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park KS; burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m - 1 p.m. Friday at the Chapel. JoAnn was born July 18, 1947, in Plad, MO. She was a resident of the Kansas City area for 35 years. She was employed at Montgomery Ward"s Credit for over 20 years and retired in 1994. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Kenneth Farris; two sons, Scott Farris, Leawood KS, and Shawn Farris and his wife Lydia, Prairie Village KS; mother, Jewell Elliott, Windyville, MO; five grandchildren, Eric, Ashtynne, McKenzie, Preston, and Joshua Farris; four brothers, Glenn Elliott, El Dorado MO, Bob Elliott, Lebanon MO, Vernon Elliott, Windyville MO, and Roua Elliott, Tunas MO; three sisters, Lois Starnes, Kansas City MO, Joyce Swanigan, Windyville MO, and Linda Sallee, Kansas City MO.
