Faris From Roanoke. Attended Roanoke College and received a master's degree in electric engineering from Virginia Tech. Worked for Bell Telephone Co. before the war. Joined the Army in February 1941 and went into the Signal Corps. Killed in North Africa on Nov. 22, 1943.
