    3. I'm reposting this to the list with a bit of extra info, so some of you may have an easier time finding connections to my search. Seeking information on William and Katy PHARRIS. William was probably born in Madison or Cumberland County Kentucky. His first wife was named Sarah. William's second wife was named Katy. William probably died around 1815 +/- a few years. William's widow, Katy, began to live with Enoch J. "Old Man" CARTER in about 1818. Katy and Enoch lived together for several years but separated prior to 1830. The 1850 Jackson County, TN, census shows Pharris families and descendants of this Enoch Carter living in consecutively numbered households. Am especially interested in learning more about the origins of Katy Pharris. One source believes she may have been part Cherokee. All leads or direction will be appreciated.
