His wife's name was Martha (Osborne?), and they were in Cherokee County, AL by c. 1850. Family legend has it Samuel and Martha left Alabama and went to Arizona. Their children were William, Emiline, Handsberry, Houston, John, Nancy and James Isaac (b. Feb. 1830 TN), who spelled it Phariss. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Mary Ann
