Hello Pete and everyone. My mail sevrver has been down for about a week so I have been cathing up to you all with this name stuff and so far my last names have all been spelled FARRIS, except once on the 1920 census for Ohio we were listed as FERRIS but I think it was just a fluke! But any how, I have always been toold that we are Irish and I also did a little research on The name FARRIS and found the definition and everything. But my sistyer works at a grocery store type place here in Ohio and she was telling me some guy came up to her and asked her about her last name (FARRIS) he asked if she was Lebonesse (sp?) she said no we are Irish, he then said his last name is FARRIS and they are Leb. she didnt know anything about it so she brought it to me since I am the one doing our family tree and I told I had no idea well...I was looking through the GENFORUM.com pages under FARRIS and seen this posting about the Leb. FARRIS', I did write to this person asking to please send me any info he had on this but never recieved anything. But anyway, I am very long winded today and really had no point at all to the story!
