Dear Annette, Did your Elias live in Schuyler Co., Missouri? If so, I think we are looking at the same family, and it isn't easy. My grandfather was William Z. Farris and he was born in Schuyler County, Mo. in 1853. His father was John Farris born in Ky in 1815. Since Wm.Z. had only sisters, all born in Schuyler Co.Mo, except the oldest who was born in Tennessee in 1842, it appears that John moved to Tennessee shortly before 1840, and originally from Ky. I am stuck on John Farris because I don't know yet what county in Kentucky he lived in. Only know he was born there and married Rebecca Dickson and had 7 children, was in Tn in 1840 and Schuyler Co.Mo. in 1850. Later he moved to Randolph Co., Mo. I think where we both need to concentrate is on Schuyler Co., Mo. as there were several Farris families there and they apparently had all come from Tn. and Ky.
