Sylvia, Thank you. Guess I didn't really explain things too well. I was aware that Russell was formed from Washington Co. VA, but my problem is that the Edward who appears in Washington and then Russell after it's formation, may or may not be the Edward that married Agnes ___. There are 2 lines of thought on the subject. What I am really looking for is hard evidence that the Edward that married Agnes was in Washington Co. at the same time we can physically place the Edward of Russell actually IN Russell, thereby more or less proving there were 2 different Edwards. I tend to believe there was only one Edward but I would like to prove this one way or the other. Sandy
