YorkVille Inquirer Tuesday, January, 28, 1919 Died in Action Oct. 4, 1919 William Harvey Farris son of the late Thomas Farris and his wife Clementine Farris of Cato, Arkansas. He was born January 26, 1893. He entered the American Army in Los Angeles, California in October 1917 and was trained in New York State and went to France with the Rainbow Division landing December 29, 1917, and went in the trenches in June. His last letter home bore the date of September 16, 1918, and the War Department has given notice of his death on October 4. The young soldier was a grandson of the late Elijah A. Farris of York County and a nephew of Mrs. L.J. Lumpkin of Newport.
