    3. Betsy, The Faries family in SC originates from James Faries (ca 1738-1802) and Jean Adair d. 1807. James was the son of William Faries d.1786 DE. James Faries had a son Alexander b. 1758 who married Elizabeth Strain (Strane). The other Faries Family of SC was Alexander Faries Jr. (1740-1824) and Jennet James. James Faries (1802) and Alexander Faries Jr. (1824) were probably first cousins. From records in DE. it seems their fathers probably were brothers. If you look at the wills of James 1802 and Alexander 1824 in SC you will find the names of their children are almost the same. This is true of all the Faries families originating from Robert Faries d. 1749 DE.
