18 Dec 1912: As to 1790 census, "The Jno Ferris of Chester Co. is the one buried at Ebenezer & who I thought your gg (g?) grand father as the name is exactly as on tomb stone". Chester line is c 10-12 miles from Ebenezer and there are records in Columbia of land granted to Wm. Faris as Chester as early as 1764.
