    1. [FARRIS-L] lil problem

    3. Wanda, I have been entering all my notes on all my gatherings of any name of Faries (sp) in my Word 97 files. I have vital records, births, baptismals, marriages, deaths, military, city directory info, I can go on and on. I am gathering Faries (sp) where-ever I find it...and have a very large master list. I was hoping that if I circulate it on the site, then all of these people who are huntin for kin, will be able to seperate and pull out what does or might apply to them. That way they can help us get all the family groups organized. Gail and I have a lot of DE information. We are just starting to get into Pa. research.....which will be more of a fall thing. I take down anything at this time, as I have found that sooner or later it connects somewhere. Steve and now, Warren are on board and they are doing pretty much the same thing...and we are trying to share with each other what we have so far. There are several others helping us from within the group. Here is the problem: I have entered the information much the same way as I did the last posting, with bold, underline, etc. where I feel it is important to draw attention to the subject at hand. This will not post on the net, as I just found out. It is important to do this, as without the proper notice...the postings will be confusing. Do you have any suggestions as to how to by pass this? I am also on a different carrier, as we dumped AOL years ago due to the problems and the high bills it was creating for us. We are on a local service, which does us just fine. My only other alternative would be to mail you (snail mail) a master dics (or however many it takes) and let you review the information and possible format for you to post it on the site. It would be nice if all of us are on the same page, and would save a lot of time and energy if we all had information on a master list. I would hope that others from different states, who have their beginnings in Conn. or DE would post the gatherings they have. It seems that "our" DE group did have several who left New Castle Co. and went down Dover way. Then this same group branched out from there to South Carolina and Tenn. as well as other states. More and more the evidence links back to the large family from New Castle DE, who originated in the Conn. lines years before. The Ferris spelling also seems to be the one that started here, and was distorted along the way. Faries was also listed as a different version of the spelling. I am willing to share whatever I have, and I will wait to see what your ideas might be, so that this group can all have the same research information available to them. I have a strong feeling that they have a lot to contribute of their own lines, and something could trigger a major clue or link to get us all together as kin. My main objective is to find my beginnings and the folks who belonged in my lines. I would rather not be spinning my wheels at this point, but be moving in a positive direction to connections. I am doing both sides of my mother and father's lines and this is a major project for me, as well as for Gail. I can speak for both of us, that we are willing to share anything we have to the common goal of connections. New people come in and others drop out, old postings are lost to them. I am fairly new to this, and although I keep all the mailings in a seperate file, it is very large and involved and difficult to go back and look for people. I will wait to hear what your thoughts are on this, or the thoughts of the group at large. Sincerely in kinship Carole Faries Werner
