Wanda, This file is VERY large, and growing all the time. I have been gathering everything I can find on the name Ferris (sp) for almost 8 years now. Because I had such a large family, and no knowledge of the "proper" way to do geneaology work, I was like a squirrel gathering nutts! Anything that I could find, I took notes on, and referenced. I have every birth, baptismal, marriage and death (with reference numbers) for the Dover Archives, as well as history on "our" churches; areas "we" lived in; history of the cemeteries "we" are buried in; military information about any Faries I could find, files on Lex's family (He came outta a large family in New Castle DE) which I still know in my heart is part of ours; and when Gail came on board, she did the same....EVERYTHING we found we made note of. Ruling nothing out, as a possibility. In laws are there, as well as friends. We do a lot of cross referencing, to get to our goals. If someone needed information from Dover Archives, they would have reference numbers to e mail, Dover would send a price for info, they could send a check and the info would be in their hands within days. That is why I copy all resources and reference numbers, so if I leave the area, I can call, write or email later for something to fill in the gap. Gail is on AOL, so there might be a way we can send this through her. Meanwhile, if someone has questions on the DE area they can ask us, and we can see if we have it on file. I still think it would be less stressful to just have everyone on the same page. If someone has information on another state, and that links us (like South Carolina and Tenn) then the puzzle will drop in place much much faster for all of us. Let's see how we can share this information. There must be a way to get this out there. I know very little about computers, haven't even got me a home page yet. So, maybe someone else out there can come up with the idea that will bring this all together for all of us. Thanks for your reply, I remain sincerely Carole Faries Werner, and Gail Faries says me too!
