With all the "current" obituaries in the Cosby Surname Board, it makes research quite difficult. If you cannot abide by the rules of the boards, then you leave the rest of us no choice to contact Ancestry directly.

Hi Everybody. Thanks for the welcome, I'm looking for the parents of Ava Eveline Farris Cates wife of Moses Pinkney Cates, James Nelson Farris and Thomas Logan Farris. They were from Franklin/Coffee County, Tennessee and as far as I know all three of them died in Southern Missouri. They had lived in Texas, Oregon, and Madison Counties at various times. Their mother Elizabeth Hill was living with Eveline Cates when she died. I've been told that their parents were James Farris and Elizabeth Logan. After James Farris died Elizabeth married Thomas Hill. That is the extent of what I know. I'm hoping someone out here can take me back a little further. I'm descended from Martha Parthenia Cates "Thene", Eveline and Moses Cates daughter. Martha Cates married William Daniel Warren. Their son Smith Ephiram "Duke" Warren was my grandfather. He married Maude Beverly. Their youngest daughter Lula Lorene was my mother.
