I will soon do an update of our entire Y-DNA project where we now have 19 participants who have received their Y-DNA results. We continue to have break-through results, which is very exciting. We will have a lot more such break-throughs if additional males with the FARRIS/etc. surname join our project. If you are interested in joining, please contact me at <<< JohnAFarris@comcast.net <mailto:JohnAFarris@comcast.net> >>> & I will send you the details. In a previous posting I recommended that anyone interested in the subject of DNA read the book "The Seven Daughters of Eve" by Bryan Sykes. It covers a lot of the history of DNA in a very entertaining & readable way (at least for me). I still strongly recommend this read. I just finished reading "Trace Your Roots with DNA, Using Genetic Tests to Explore Your Family Tree" by Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak and Ann Turner. It is excellent and I wish I had read it sooner. It is an easy to understand handbook on how best to use DNA testing to enhance your genealogy. If you have any interest at all in this new field of DNA, I hope you will get a copy & read it You can find both new & used copies on amazon.com. However, you can't have my copy because it is all marked up. I learned important new information is each chapter. I expect that this book will make me a better coordinator of this project.
