    1. [FARRIS] Michael and Thomas Farris, Sr
    2. Pat Johnson
    3. I am descended from Michael Farris and his father, Thomas Farris, Sr. They migrated from Pittsylvania Co VA to Lincoln Co KY then to Madison Co KY when it was formed. Michael's daughter, Cloe Farris Campbell is my ancestress. I am trying to establish Michael and Thomas' patriotic service in the American Revolution. I currently have a supplemental application for each at DAR. They are challenging a few items at the moment, but I hope to have them resolved soon. I would like to hear from any other descendants of these two men.

    1. [FARRIS] My Farris connection -- can anyone help?
    2. 24CHRISTOPHER S SCOTT
    3. Thank you for the invite. My Great great granmother was Harriett M Farris born abt 1825 in CT and died after the 1880 Census of Andrew County, MO. Same census indicates father born in NY, mother CT (headstone has no dates) Harriett married Thomas J Jackson abt 1844 in Tuscarwas, OH and for the 1850 Census are living with TJ's parents and son Theodore S Jackson born 1845. By 1860 the still growing family relocated to Nodaway County, MO and are farming (TJ's parents are one farm over) 1870 Census still find them in Nodaway and in 1880 they are seen just accross the county line in Andrew County, MO where the family is complete. Children are Theodore S Jackson 1845 OH Emery Newell Jackson 1847 OH Roseltha Jackson 1848 OH James D Jackson 1848 OH Annetta M Jackson 1853 OH Ellen L Jackson 1857 Martha E Jackson 1861 MO Inez (Innes) L Jackson 1864 MO William Farris Jackson 1866-1951 my Great grandfather For the 1850 Census of Tuscarwas, OH I find a James Farris of CT born 1787, and wife Mary born NJ or NY 1803. I suspect this couple, are the parents of my Harriett M Farris Jackson. In 1850 James includes the following within his home James Farris 1787 CT (farmer) died 1858 Tusacarwas, OH Mary Farris 1803 NY or NJ Samuel Lyons 1834 OH laborer Joseph Lyons 1835 OH William Lyons 1840 OH George Lyons 1842 OH Thomas West 1828 Mary West 1831 OH Nearly ALL info on my Harriet and family is incorrect on the LDS site as it list marriage of Harriett and TJ occurred 1864 in MO, which is actually the marriage date of one of thier daughters. I included Harriett's children names incase she followed the given name patttern for the Farris line, as it was not followed for the Jackson names. Any and all info is GREATLY apperciated as I am new to this line and researching. I am also TRYING to complete this line for myself and my 2nd Cousin whom just turned 90, her father was Guy Farris Jackson, son of William Farris Jackson 1866-1951 Should you think we have a match in lineage, I will gladly forward an invite to my tree on ancestery.com Respectfully, Christopher S Scott

    1. [FARRIS] James Farris 1787 CT to 1858 OH connection to Harriet M Farris 1825 CT
    2. 24CHRISTOPHER S SCOTT
    3. I am interested in James Farris seen in the 1840 and 1850 Census of Tuscarwas, OH as I BELIEVE him to be the father of my Harriett M Farris, from Census info father from CT and possibly NY mother from CT and possibly NY and visa versa on other census. The paticular man I am looking at James Farris was born 1787 CT and died 1858 in Tuscarwas, OH and appears to be married to a Mary. My Harriett M Farris born abt 1825 in CT she married Thomas J (TJ) Jackson sometime near 1845 as she had her first child about 1845. For the 1850 Census TJ and Harriet are living in his parents home (Thomas Jackson and Nancy Philson) with Theodore S. For 1860 Census Harriett had the additional children Emery, Roseltha, and Annetta. By 1870 the family is seen in Nodaway County, MO with completed family of Martha, Inez, and William Farris Jackson. William Farris is my great grandfather so any info is greatly apperciated. Respectfully Christopher S Scott

    2. Judy, I am related to a branch of Farrises in Morganton, but I believe there are two separate branches. Do you know if you're descended from the Farrises who lived in York County, S. C.? Which Farris line are you researching in S. C.? I have been looking for a Thomas Farris in South Carolina he probably married around 1790 he had six or so children before 1800, around 1800 he moved to somewhere in Kentucky where he had at least 2 more children, then around 1806 he moved again this time he moved to the Natchez District in Mississippi where he had four to six more children. He died in the early 1840's I think it was 1842 or 1843 in Lawrence County Mississippi. I sure wish I could find someone interested in this man. I know he had some contact with the Rutland family of Lawrence County Mississippi as they were mentioned as buying items from his estate sale. I believe Thomas may have married a Rutland after he moved to Mississippi. Thanks for listening, Estelle Farris
