I have documentation from Madison County Circuit Court on two different Farris'. One is a Neffany Farris married to a James Smith Faris (he died 1821). When he died they had children all under the age of 6. And the second is a George M. Farris (he also went by G.M. Farris) died 29 Sept 1952. It looks as if Mae (May) E. Farris was his spouse and they had two children - Eldon B. from Alton and Mildred Mae Cook. My Gr grandfather, Hampton Farris, was born in 1865 in Gillisonville, SC. a little spot on the map just north of Savannah, GA..He was the youngest of 21 children. His father was James Farris born about 1803 and lived for many years in the Beaufort/Jaspar county areas. James was married 3 times, his first wife's name is unknown but his 2nd wife was Mary Ann and his 3rd wife was Nancy.
