This is my family, too. Would be happy to compare notes with you. William's wife, Agnes, came to IN with some of their children. I've been to her grave (my mom is a Faris and I grew up in the county where Agnes came with her family). welcome every one...and good luck on your research...jenell
It seems that there were two William Faries in SC about this time. The one that was married to Agnes Cowan is discussed in the book by David Faris entitled: The Faris Family of Washington County, IN Gateway Press Baltimore 1984. This William Faries was a brother to the James Faries (Faris) that I am descended from. This William died in 1805. He emigrated from County Antrim with several brothers and a sister in 1772. If Nancy is another name for agnus then I'm not confussed about that anymore, but I'm still confussed about Moses. My family says I'm tied to Moses son of William & Agnus brother to Isaac. But my list may be incomplete! I don't know. Moses Died somewhere in ILL. around 1809, he was married to an Indian woman(no name) they had 5 children John B., Robert Miller, Moses T., Jane H., & Edwin Theodore, I'm related to Robert Miller B. July 15, 1803 in York S.C. D. 1885 in York S.C., After Moses died the Indian woman went back to South Carolina, I don't if she took the children back to William and Agnus or went back to the tribe??? I have Williams Will and Testament and York county probate list from 1797 thru1962 of the Farris'/Faris/Faries and it only shows one William dieing in 1805 and they intern sent me the Will. I'll send this now and I'll make a list as my family shows it from William and Agnus to now Pete
Thanks Bev I hope your right. I've been snagged on that for a little while, you know the old saying learn something new every day. Thanks again Pete
As strange as it may seem, Nancy is a nickname for Agnes. That confused me for years on another line. So could be the same person. Bev

looking for descendents of : cowan and mollie farris (1800's in missouri), had 4 children, willie rush (my grandfather), lulu elizabeth (born 1868), sallie, and mollie. what i know is: willie rush married nettie chennault and had 4 boys, george, homer, wylie, marvin, and vernie (my father born 1898 in red river texas) lulu elizabeth married samuel jeremiah callaway in 1884 in missouri, they moved to texas in 1893, had children named alpha, claude lee, margaret, kate, sallie, charlie, samuel ray, and lula fay. it appears the farris parents cowan and mollie resided in missouri, then the children moved to texas but not sure when or what happened to cowan and mollie. thanks\ mary
