    2. Hi my name is Kerrie Rosenwinkle. I am researching the Faris name. I do not have alot to go on. The only names that I have are my father (Walter) Frances Faris & Gene Faris and i think they have a brother Willie Faris and that is all I know so this one will be alittle bit harder than the Wainscott or Rosenwinkle or the Pride name. I am real new at this but I will figure this out soon I hope. Thank you, Kerrie. If anyone can help me please do I need all the help I can get. If I can help anyone out there please just ask me....

    3. If he's passed away check the SSDI to see if you can find his S.S. # that will tell you where his card was issued at. If you think he was born in Okla. you take the risk to send off for his birth certificate. That will give you his parents names. And same goes for his brother. 3. Frank - Thanks for your reply ... My wife and I were in Jackson County last Friday - We spent a short time in the library and also in the court house - it was just a "get familar with the territory" type of visit. We live in Murfreesboro and it was less than a 90 minute drive. We also went to Whitleyville and visited with Bobby Pharris who is the postmaster of that little community. He told me his family was from the Granville Community. It appears there were two different lines of "PHARRIS" in the county - probably both related back a bit, bit none the less, two different groups in 1850 - one from NC and one from KY .... I'm reasonably satisfied with my BIRDWELL research in Jackson County, but, this PHARRIS/FARRIS search is made harder by the fact that marriage records are almost non-existant there prior to the 1870s ... I found the marriage record of William H. Birdwell and Nellar Pharris which surprised me ... I would be most appreciative of any help ... Thank you again. I found an article about him in "Heritage of Dekalb County, Alabama". Thomas Fletcher King married Beaula Jones. She was the daughter of George H. Jones above. Thomas was postmaster in Sylvania, Al. 3. Hello from another Farris cousin. I'm Darla Rae Farris, and am another descendant of the famous Ian Esom Farris. Here is my line: Ian>Henry>Joseph>Joshua>Meredith>Thomas J.>Elijah>Robert H.>James W.>Darla At this point in my research, I'm interested in Ian's ancestry (Clan Fergusson of Scotland?), and like others, am trying to figure out why Ian's sons came from Wales. If Ian arrived in 1663 from Scotland, why was Henry born in 1670 in Scotland? (I've also read somewhere that Henry was born in VA, so that would make more sense.) I always did love a good mystery! 3. I am looking for John Pharris - he was married to Elizabeth Goard ... I realize all the spelling variations of both names .... DATES - not sure, but probably they were married between 1850 and 1870 in TN (possibly KY) ... to be more exact, probably in Jackson County, TN ... They were listed as parents on the death certificate of my great grandmother, Armanella "Nellar" Birdwell 1872 to 1951 (died in Nashville) ... I have been thru the 1880 census of Jackson County line by line ... and found nothing ,,, it would be the only census where I can find Nellar with her parents, as she was md 1887 ... in Jackson County, TN to William Henry Birdwell .... Any help would be appreciated .. Thanks, Jerry Anderson ... http://www.public.usit.net/jandrson/ Jerry Jerry R Anderson Anderson & Associates Recruiting For Financial Professionals jandrson@usit.net

    3. Carol, Your Thomas W. C. Farris could be the grandson of Thomas W. C. Farris, who died in Cooper Co MO in the 1840s. His son Eri Morley Farris had a son Thomas W, who was born about 1853. I do think I found your Thomas in the 1880 Grayson Co TX U.S. census Roll 1306 ED16 Sh24 L20 Farris, Thomas W M 28 MO Alice W F 25 MO Alonzo W M 7 S MO Alice W F 5 D MO Alfred W M 2 S TX Alma W F 5 D MO Don't know if Thomas was married before Alice Plunkett or if Alice was living with him to take care of his children. Since I didn't know who this family was at the time, I didn't take down all the data. My Farrises were from Cooper/Cole/Moniteau County MO and went to Grayson Co before 1850.
