This is the Farris Family I am researching: Marion Matthew Farris, born 1872 in Iowa (possibly), married in 1892 (possibly) in Oregon to Laura Ellen Beach. MMF died in 1960 in Los Angeles, California. His second marriage was to Blanche ____Farris who was from the Los Angeles area and after his death went to Northern California. MMF and Laura had 10 children; born in different states. First child born in Oregon, 2nd in Missouri, 3rd in Oklahoma, 4th in Kansas, 5th,6th,7th & 8th in Oklahoma, and the 9th and 10th in New Mexico. I have absolutely no information on MMF parents, and other family members have no information either. Obviously dear Grandpa is my brick wall!! Marilyn Hughes Johnson Pasadena, CA

Hi! My name is Scott Farris (Scott_Farris@mindspring.com and scott.farris@sterling.com). I'm glad to have found the Farris list (both at home and at work). I'm researching my grandfather's line: Charles Farris (IA/WI), John Delbert Farris (IA/?) and my ggrandmother's line: Harriet Isabel Davis (IA/OK) As you can see, I'm just starting out. No one really kept track of my grandfather's line. So, I'm putting on my investigative hat, and trying to find out some information about him. I'd be interested in knowing if I'm related to some of the other Farris' on the list. If your Farris line is from Iowa, there's a good chance that we're related somehow or somewhere. Thanks, and happy hunting... Am searching for William Kittrell Farris or Buford Ambrose Farris who were born in Maury county in the 1880's and later moved to Texas. They are the children of James Edward and Mary Jane Farris of Maury county Ten. Any information would be appreciated. Linda Sanders
Dear Maryellen, Do you have a John Farris born in Ky on 4/23/1815 and married Rebecca Dickson, and their son, William Zachariah Farris born in Schuyler County, Mo. `12/16/1853? I have more on the Farris's but not about who John Farris belonged to. I would very much appreciate if you show a possible connection. My daughter has much to share on the DuBois, Slaton, Harris, Lipscomb families, also Warford, and Stark. Welcome every one........jenell Phariss Ragan
I am not going to touch Alexander until more research is done. We have Alexander in our line, and he was to have come off Alex and Jannet James.....our Alexander stayed in Smyrna (Kent Co) DE and had a funeral home business and furniture making. He is buried there. The chart we have lists Alex and Jannet (his wife) with James as the father and Robert as the grandfather. Our line comes off there somewhere, and we are leaning toward Samuel, as we have census for Sam and Alfred being brothers and blacksmiths there in DE. Our direct line comes down from Alfred. That is keeping us busy enough.....and my head is spinning with all of those Alexanders. We are planning a trip in to DE to verify the Alex line we are working and have much more research on this family. I will continue to monitor the site, and see if anything is useful. Meanwhile, anything I find, I will share with the site. Thanks for all the information, as I am sure sooner or later we will all click into place, and be one big family, lines going all over the place. Carole Faries Werner :}
