    2. Reba, Do you happen to have a list of the children of William Faris (1734-1818)? He strikes me as close to the right age to be the father of the apparent brothers James (ca 1751?-1822), John (1761-1826), and William (ca 1765?-1803), of Fleming co, Ky. The birth years for James and William are only educated guesses and could be off quite a bit. James had a daughter Jane, probably his eldest, who m. 1799 in Fleming co. to John Markwell (1772-1850). If she was quite a bit younger than her husband, let's say b. ca 1781, her father James Faris could easily have been born late enough to be William's son (e.g., more like 1758 than 1751). Thanks much. David Boles

    3. Marilyn, I have a Marion Faris born between 1823 and 1860. I have not researched this part of the line yet it is a side line of the one I am currently researching. But since they used names over and over again back then could be a connection for you. My Marion is 1 of 11 children born to Samuel Anderson Farris and Lydia Buchanan. They moved around a lot Starts in VA and ends in TN but have some lines that went to Oregon and CA. Will look into it for you and see if I can find any more info for you.

    2. There must be a researcher, somewhere in this world, researching a Farris family, from maybe Iowa, that had a son named Marion Matthew Farris, born in September, 1872. He HAD to have parents!! It is possible that his parents were not married to one another.....and that the surname Wilcher or Workman plays a part in that scenario. MMF married Laura Ellen Beach in Oregon, approximately 1892. LEB was born in Illinois, and her mother was Louisa Cochran Beach, born in Ohio. Marion and Laura had 10 children; two of whom are still living, but in their 80's. The children were born in varying states: Oregon; Missouri; Oklahoma, Kansas, and New Mexico. Marion died in California in 1960; Laura died in California in 1939. Anyone know these folks? I do need help! TIA, Marilyn Hughes Johnson Pasadena, CA
