Mrs. Farris was born Feb. 27, 1909, in Bochita, Okla. She was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church, Mary-Martha Sunday School Class and Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Otto Farris, in 1979. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Gwen and Lary McKeel of Las Vegas and Jan Michie of Argyle, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Guy and Anne Farris and Mike and Donna Farris of DeKalb; one brother, Orville Gay of Tucson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Hoefner officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery under direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home. (Hunt) Farris. He married Matilda "Ethel" (Biggerstaff) Farris Feb. 11, 1946; she survives. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Revs. Tony Jenkins and George Tuggle will officiate. Burial will be in the veterans section of IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro, following military rites by American Legion Post 106. Funeral Mass will be conducted by the Rev. Gregory P. Lowchy at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 700 Nash St. NE, Wilson, NC. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Widowed since July 1998, Margaret was the wife of Leslie A. Farris, owner/operator of the Golden Weed Restaurant. A devout Catholic, Margaret was the oldest living member of St. Therese Church. She was active in numerous church activities including the Altar Society, Bazaars, International Dinners, Choir, Welcoming Committee, and Bereavement. She was an active member of the Prime Timers. Honored 10 years ago by being chosen as a Life Time Member of the Wilson Woman‚s Club, Margaret served as an officer in all four departments and was treasurer of the American Home Department for 25 years. She remained an active member of the club until her illness in early 2003. All of her life, Margaret has given unselfishly to family, church and friends. Until her own illness, she cared for the sick, elderly and those less fortunate. She will always be remembered for her gracious personality, contagious laughter, welcoming hospitality and love of people. Surviving are two daughters, Jean Farris Baxter and husband, Sam, of Pine Knoll Shores and Pamela Farris Mullen and husband, Jim, of Greenville; a son, Ronald Andrew Farris of Gibsonville; a granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Farris of Gibsonville; and two grandsons, Andrew Parker Davis of Raleigh and Andrew Joseph Farris of Gibsonville. Louise's house was always open, where she welcomed everyone with her ethnic cooking and generous personality. Her nickname was "Casino Louise" and will be remembered and missed by all. Louise was a retired owner/operator in retail sales. Louise is survived by her daughters, Jacqulin Oneil and Fay Farris, both of Las Vegas; her sons, David Farris of Henderson, Michael Farris and James Farris, both of Cleveland; her sisters, Ann Peters and Alvera Shiekh, both of Cleveland; her brother, Thomas Anthony of Cleveland; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Farris 1932 - 2004 Mr. Donald E. Farris, 71, of Plattsburg, MO, died Monday, January 26, 2004, at Liberty Hospital. Donald was the son of Estil Lewis and Buelah Fern (Warner) Farris. Mr. Farris graduated from Pickett High School and St. Joseph Junior College, both were in St. Joseph, MO. Mr. Farris was also a graduate of Cal State University-Fullerton with a degree in Business Management. Mr. Farris joined the United States Air Force in 1954 and served proudly for many years. Mr. Farris worked for and retired from Rockwell International in the late 1980's where he was an Aerospace Engineer. His career began as an instructor on the F-100 Jet Engine and the Hound Dog Missile. He was involved with the Saturn-Apollo and Space Shuttle Programs. After his retirement he bought the Sourdough Campground in Tok, Alaska; he sold the campground in 1996 and moved to Plattsburg, MO. Mr. Farris was a member of Broadway Methodist Church, the Rotary Club and the Masonic Lodge in California. Mr. Far! ris was married to Marilyn Joyce Armstrong in 1954; she preceded him in death in 1998. A brother, Wayne O. Farris also preceded him in death in 1997. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Furbeck Farris of the home; a brother, Darrel D. Farris of California; a sister, Elwanda deRochemont of Alabama; two daughters, Donna Bredeson of Kansas City and Nancy Shough of California; a stepson, Jimmy Taylor; a stepdaughter, Stephanie A. Burris; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. FARRIS Barbara passed away on January 1st, 2004, longtime resident of Riverside. Survived by sister; Melinda A. Mielke, son: Michel L. Marshall, grandson: Sean M. Marshall, daughter-in-law; Donna R. Marshall and best friend; Marilyn Humphrey. Barbara was an active longtime member at Harvest Christian Fellowship. She loved the Lord, all her friends, and her cats- who were her children. She loved to fly with her grandson, Sean, who is an accomplished 17 yr. old private pilot. This brought much joy to her life. Anyone who knew Barbara was always welcomed with a warm smile and open-heart to join her for breakfast after a Sunday morning service. Barbara also had a love for shopping which she shared with her longtime friend, Marilyn. She loved to travel, and did so anytime she could get away. Her favorite places to visit were Hawaii and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She loved the warmth of the island and the people. Barbara's passing has left a huge hole in the lives of her loved ones and fri! ends, but comfort can be found that she is at peace in her real "home" now. Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 9th at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, make donations in her name to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Farris was a member of the Bellevue County Club, was a past President of the Ladies Golf Association and enjoyed playing golf. She was a Past President of the Atchison Hospital Auxiliary and served on the Atchison YMCA Board of Directors. She enjoyed both water and snow skiing, boating, traveling, walking, running, aerobic exercise, and she especially enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Claire Farris is survived by her husband J. Farris died Dec. 17, 2003, at age 79. Mr. Farris was born Nov. 27, 1924, in Yuba City, Calif. He moved to Portland in 1936 and graduated from Grant High School and the University of Portland. During World War II, he served in the Air Force and was stationed in India and Burma. He was an accountant for Coast to Coast. In 1946, he married Elsie Peterson. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Linda Farris and Barbara Pool; sister, Gloria Earnhardt-Hughes; brother, Kenneth; and two grandchildren. Private service. Remembrances to Coronary Care Unit, Providence Portland Medical Foundation. Arrangements by Oregon Cremation.

She fought long & hard after surviving a massive stroke on 10/6/03 but it was just 'too much' and God said enough, and wanted our loving mother to join Him and the angels in heaven. Maudine was born 2/15/26 in Ringling, OK to Elick F. Farris and Lucy Landreth Farris. She had 13 siblings and was raised in Ft. Cobb. She came to OKC at the age of 17 and met and married William E. Smith, on 9/ 28/44. They had three daughters. She is survived by three daughters Victory Joyce Bradley, Ernestine Marie Bauer and husband Tom, Alice Faye Bittle and husband Kenny, all of Del City, OK, nine grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters Jessie McCall of Reedley, CA and Flora Mae Tate of Orange Cove, CA and five sisters in law and numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and dear friends. Mom has been our 'ROCK' and will be dearly missed by! all who knew and loved her. May you rest now in peace Mom. We'll meet you in Heaven. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 S.E. 29, Del City on Wednesday 12/24/03 at 1:00 PM, with graveside services at Sunnylane Cemetery.

Regional Hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1988, in Sequoyah County, Okla., to Leonard Joel and Patricia Ann Clark Farris. He was home-schooled and attended Chelsea (Okla.) Holiness Church. He enjoyed fishing, collecting old coins and studying history. Survivors include his parents of Colcord; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Clark of Paden, Okla.; five brothers, David Wayne Farris of Eucha, Okla., Jeffrey Don Farris, Derek Scott Farris, Zachary Kelon Farris and Jared Lane Farris, all of Colcord; two sisters, Latasha Brooke Farris and Kaycie Lanae Farris, both of Colcord. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Faith Baptist Church in Sandusky, Okla., with David Perry and Loyd Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Dickson Cemetery at Cherokee City. Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

The Star Shelby, NC December 22, 2003 Ethel Childers KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Ethel Farris Childers, 96, of 303 El Bethel Road, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at Kings Mountain hospital. A native of Cherokee County, S.C., she was a member of Dixon Presbyterian Church and a member of Young at Heart at Oak View Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Patterson Farris; her husband, John Emett Childers; a daughter, Betty Ruth Childers Hughes; and brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred and John Caldwell of Kings Mountain, Faye and George Lovelace of Pineville, Doris and Glenn Spearman of Kings Mountain and Joyce and Don Roark of Kings Mountain; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Oak View Baptist Church with the Revs. Randy Patterson, James Billings, and Carey Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Oak View Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Harris Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mildred Caldwell, 303 El Bethel Road, Kings Mountain.
